HISTORY OF THE ZEPHYRHILLS SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB...........ZSC, INC.

The Zephyrhills Shuffleboard Club was formed April 4th, 2007 after member Bob Perkins purchased the facility from the Zephyrhills Tourist Club. The courts have been an icon in Zephyrhills for many years and when the Tourist Club voted to sell it, Bob decided to step in and save it for shufflers, for all time. An unbelievable decision from an avid shuffler and the Club members are extremely grateful for his foresight and generosity.

After the purchase, the Club elected a Board of Directors, wrote by-laws and incorporated as the Zephyrhills Shuffleboard Club and almost instantly increased the membership. A fund drive was initiated and members donated enough to make many needed repairs and renovations, including new restrooms and covering all 16 courts. All work was done with volunteer members, mainly in the summer months and has continued every year since.

On Feb. 27th, 2011, Bob decided to transfer the deed title over to the ZSC members through the newly formed not for profit corporation, ZSC, Inc. A very special day was held at the Club to celebrate the signing and honor Bob and his wife Diane for their very generous gift and for assuring shuffleboard will be played in Zephyrhills for many years,.

At this time, the Zephyrhills Shuffleboard Club is the only member owned and open shuffleboard facility in Zephyrhills with no resident restrictions and welcomes all shufflers to join. After completing an application and paying annual dues, members are entitled to all the Club's benefits including membership to the Florida Shuffleboard Association.

The Club promotes many Area, District, State and Club tournaments each year as well as Tuesday and Thursday exchange nights with Betmar, morning pick up games and more relaxed frolics every afternoon in the winter season for fun. Hoss Collar has been added on Friday evenings during the winter season. Instructional programs have also been initiated for the winter season for both novice and advanced shufflers.
